Therefore, it <br />can be concluded that the limited wildlife resources on this site should not be <br />severely impacted by the presence of this operation and in fact would probably be <br />less impacted than if the site were fully developed for industrial purposes. <br />The dry character of the property certainly contributes to the lack of <br />• <br />• <br />wildlife on the site. During the survey of the property, the "permanent" stock <br />pond on the south end of the property was studied. It is clear evidence that the <br />presence of water and suitable tree cover are important to wildlife. Although no <br />evidence of large game could be found, many birds were resident in the vicinity of <br />the pond. Birds included Mourning Dove, Robin, Yellow Warbler, Western Kingbird, <br />and a number of different species of sparrow were noted. These populations are in <br />marked contrast to the lack of even sparrows in the surrounding grassland. It is <br />suspected, however, during the peak of the breeding season, birdlife in the <br />grassland areas would be considerably more abundant than could be found at the end <br />of summer at a time when the migratory birds were obviously flocking in <br />preparation for the Tourney south. <br />page 2 of 2 E7chibit H <br />
