Red Cliff Mine EIS <br />Public Questions Summary <br />Trains/Rail Spur <br />How many trains per day will be running in and out of the mine? <br />How often will the trains be running? <br />Will they run on the same schedule everyday? <br />Is planning in place for limiting the potential for invasive species, habitat fragmentation, and industrial effluent or run-off at <br />an stage of this roposal around the rails ur? <br />Are there mineral resource impacts along the Railroad spur? <br />Will the railroad spur intertere with extraction of any minerals and/or transportation of gas/oil (pipelines, wells, etc.)? <br />Where will the train maintenance occur? <br />Where will the trains be stored? <br />Why was not the original plan several years ago to have East Salt Wash at the head of the rail spur? <br />Where will the 100 car-Ion train be parked? Will it be in the town of Mack? <br />When labor starts, is CAM planning on using local labor as much as possible? <br />How many employees will be employed in relation to the mine? (Not just miners) <br />What will their income levels be? <br />How many will be hired locally? <br />Where will this increased labor camp live? <br />Will they work in shifts? <br />Private Property <br />How will this project affect property values in this area? <br />at a out t e new omes t at are eing ui t in t is area. ese peop a oug t omes to a in t e country an ave a <br />desert/country setting, not to have a $500,000 or more home in the middle of a coal storage area. <br />Traffic <br />How much delay in traffic will this cause on 10 road? <br />What is the exact elevation change of the rail spur from up track to mine? <br />What is the average grade of the rail spur? <br />What is the grade from 10 road crossing to Highway 139 crossing? <br />What motive power is proposed? <br />Does CAM have a plan for when the main line is slow or backed up for where the rail spur will sit and wait? <br />Will the road access from State Highway 139 to the mine be discontinued once the RR spur is in? <br />What are the impacts on safety and access of emergency vehicles when roads are blocked by trains? <br />What transportation alternative and routes were considered or will be considered? <br />Will BLM be willing to help the local residents adjust to not havin time-saving emergency medical response? <br />Air Quality <br />What is the anticipated pollution output of motive power/unit? <br />What will be the ambient air qualit impacts of this increased generation, including that of increased mercu emissions? <br />
