I have been asked to write a
letter rel;arding the new mining plans for Coal Creek, submitted by Gary Tuttle of Tuttle
Applegate, Inc. I have been given a copy of the plans for review and have discussed these
plans with Gary.
With rel;ard to the proposal, I can say that Gary has made every effort to incorporate the
information available from the monitoring; to both avoid future impacts where possible and
honestly assess where impacts are likely to occur. Further, I am convinced of Mr. Tuttle's
cotttmitment to site restoration following completion of mining. In short, if the area is to be
mined, ]could not think of a more informed, committed person to do it.
I hope these comments are helpful with regard to the next phase of mining. If I can provide
further assistance, please feel free to contact me or Erik Eggleston (226-9371).
Sincere/ly_,
/ ''~'~!
Michael L.
