Prior to initializing the monitoring program, Simon Hydro-Search, in concurrence with Cyprus,
selected key surface water features (i.e., ponds, drainages and springs) for inclusion in the monitoring
program. The surface features are located in Sections 10, ] 1, and 15, T13S, R92W and are shown on
Figure I (Attachment 1). The surface water features were named using the section number in which they
occurred (e.g., Pond 10-11 and Drainage IOD-12 occur in Section 10), unless they were previously
named.
Summary of Surface Water Features and Water Quality Data
The site has been monitored four times by Simon Hydro-Search; October 1991, April 1992, June 1992
and September 1992. During the first and second visits, all of the main drainages were physically walked
by a Simon Hydro-Search hydrogeologist in the field, for the purpose of identifying and verifying all
observable surface water features. The following tasks were performed during each of the four visits:
Physical description of all observable surface water features (streams, springs, and
ponds), along with a description of the location, size, and whether the features are natural
or man-made;
Measurement of pH, temperature, specific conductivity and dischazge in each surface
water drainage, if sufficient Flow was present; and
Surface water sampling in each surface water drainage with observed flow; samples were
collected and submitted to a representative of Cyprus for subsequent analysis.

simon
ICf'dEnvilonmenla!
