(Your response <br />should include two (2)~ copies). Any public comments that we receive on your application during <br />the interim will be forwarded to you. Please be advised that your conversion application maybe <br />deemed inadequate and maybe denied on June 5, 2007 unless the following adequacy review <br />items are addressed to the satisfaction of the Division. <br />6.4.4 EXHIBIT D - <br />1. Applicant has specified that the operation will not create an adverse impact to surface and/or <br />groundwater systems. The Mine Plan and Reclamation Plan Maps show the location of Sandy <br />Creek as being within the center of area(s) to be excavated. In conformance with Rules 6.4.4, <br />6.4.5, and 3.1.6, please specify the process of how the operator will mine through a meandering <br />stream channel and be able to maintain the function and form ofthe stream channel in Areas 1- 3 <br />throughout the mining and reclamation phases of the operation, ie: how will the location and <br />dimensions of the channel and banks remain intact. At a minimum, the Applicant will need to <br />provide the following information: <br />• A representative cross section of the stream channel for each azea to be mined which <br />depicts the bank heights and slopes as well as width and configuration of the channel bed. <br />• A discussion oflhow the boundaries of the channel (from right top bank through left top <br />bank) will be identified prior to mining and re-established during reclamation. <br />• A discussion oflthe channel bed elevation, or slope from the upstream limit of extraction <br />Once of Office of <br />Mined Land Reclamation Denver Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines <br />
