Yamac Series (Borollic Camborthid, £ine-loamy, mixed)
The Yamac series consists of deep, well drained soils that
formed in weathered sandstone, siltstone and windlain materials.
Yamac sails are on upland ridges and benches and have slopes of 5
to 30 percent. The mean annual precipitation ranges from 12 to 15
inches and the mean annual soil temperature is 1;2 to 47 degrees F.
Yamac soils are similar to Forelle and Busby soils. Forelle
soils have argillic horizons. Busby soils have less than 18 percent
clay.
Typical pedon of Yamac loam, 5 to 9 percent slopes, is 500
• feet west of the NE corner of Section 18, T.LyN., R.93W.:
~' Al--0 to 5 inches; pale brown (lOYR 6/3) loam, brown (lOYR 5/3)
racist; weak £ine granular structure; slightly hard, very friable,
sticky and plastic; calcareous; moderately alkaline (pH 8.1y); clear
smooth bo~nda_ry.
