<br />Yamac Series (Borollic Camborthid, £ine-loamy, mixed) <br />The Yamac series consists of deep, well drained soils that <br />formed in weathered sandstone, siltstone and windlain materials. <br />Yamac sails are on upland ridges and benches and have slopes of 5 <br />to 30 percent. The mean annual precipitation ranges from 12 to 15 <br />inches and the mean annual soil temperature is 1;2 to 47 degrees F. <br />Yamac soils are similar to Forelle and Busby soils. Forelle <br />soils have argillic horizons. Busby soils have less than 18 percent <br />clay. <br />Typical pedon of Yamac loam, 5 to 9 percent slopes, is 500 <br />• feet west of the NE corner of Section 18, T.LyN., R.93W.: <br />~' Al--0 to 5 inches; pale brown (lOYR 6/3) loam, brown (lOYR 5/3) <br />racist; weak £ine granular structure; slightly hard, very friable, <br />sticky and plastic; calcareous; moderately alkaline (pH 8.1y); clear <br />smooth bo~nda_ry. (3 to 7 inches thick) <br />B2--5 to 15 inches; pale brown (lOYR 6/3) loam, olive brown <br />(2.5Y ~/4) moist, light olive brown (2.5Y 5/4) crushed moist; <br />moderate medium subanorular blocky structure parting to moderate fine <br />subar~ular blocky structure; hard, friable, sticky and plastic; <br />calcareous; moderately alkaline (pH 8.2); gradual wavy boundary. <br />(8 to 12 inches thick) <br />• <br />
