17 Work Series '
The Work series consists o£ deep, well-drained soils that
formed in material weathered from interbedded fine grained sandstone
end soft shale. Soils are on upland benches and sideslopes and have
slopes of 3 to 25 percent. The mean annual precipitation ranges from
16 to 20 inches and the mean annual soil temperature is 43 .to ?+6°F.
Work soils are similar to Regent, Grail, and Burnette soils.
The Regent soils have bedrock at depths between 20 and 40 inches.
The Grail. and Burnette soils have a mollic eDi°eden thicker than 16
• inches also, the Burnette soils occur in a colder climate.
