The Colorado Division of Wrldhf' a appreciates your interest iu enhsncmg reclamation efforts for
wildlife- Asper our coaversatian on Ol May 97, the following is a list ofplant species we would
recommend 'including in the reclamation plan.
Species list:
Fourwing salibush (Atriplex canescens)
Sand sagebrush (Artemisia filifolia)
Rubber rabbitbrush (Chrysothamnus nauseosus)
Slcunkbush sumac (Rhos ttilobata)
Woody plants. provide valuable overstory "cover" for wildlife, particularly avian species. The
proposed seeding prescription provides as excellent mix of grasses. The inclusion ofwoody
species into this prescription should benefit wildlife and assist in mitigating some ofthe potential
impacts associated with the proposed action. We would suggest you contact the Natural Resource
Conservation Service for specific recommendations relating to seeding rates on critical area
plantings.
