BASE PRODUCTS
c/o Tony F. Appelhanz
62339 West LaSalle Road-Montrose, CO 81401-(303)249-3061
EXHIBIT D
MINING PLAN
In 1993 this site supplied gravel for the New Montrose Airport.
I expect this to continue when funding is available. I intend
to market gravel directly from site to anyone having a need.
This site has enough gravel to last many years. Location is a
plus for developers here and will not impact neighbors.
As space becomes available, I intend to have crushed gravel
available to those that require it.
The area to be mined is a mesa that has a natual 1:1 slope.
My permit will begin exactly where the present Permit(held by
Black Canyon Aggregate) will be finished in the near future.
I plan to slope the banks(same as previous permit), as material
is removed, NOT LATER. Correction is expensive and difficult
to obtain after material is gone.
Before the dams were built in this area, this area was a
very grid area. The water allocation was directed by the Bureau
of Reclamation by soil classification. The area to be mined
has almost no overburden, so there will be little available to
replace. The thickness of the Deposit should be 30' to 40'.
The only man made structures in this area is a power line
of the Delta-Montrose Electric Association. See DMEA letter
stating their requirements.
The entrance road is slightly over one half mile in length
