• Also, it must be emphasized that both the Division has significant <br />familiarity with ongoing operations in Hay Gulch. In other words, much <br />of this permit covers technicalities which have been scrutinized in <br />previous permit applications. <br /> <br /> <br />Maximum Utilization and Conservation of the Coal <br />Sunbelt will strive in its mining operation to recover the maximum coal <br />tonnage that may be practically removed. The overall goal of Sunbelt <br />with respect to coal recovery is to go well beyond the diligence <br />normally required to maximize coal production. Maximizing coal <br />production while minimizing unnecessary costs are items that both the <br />government and Sunbelt are concerned with during these times of high <br />inflation and unemployment. Sunbelt will be mining to maximize the <br />recovery utilizing the conventional methods of underground coal mining. <br />Description of Organization of Permit Application <br />Sunbelt has carefully chosen the format for this application. The <br />application is arranged for easy reference to specific Sections of the <br />Colorado Regulations. Where applicable, cross references have been <br />furnished to avoid redundancy and to facilitate the review. <br />Supplemental information not included in the typed text of this <br />application is set forth as Figures, Tables, Maps, or Exhibits. A <br />comprehensive listing of all Figures, Tables, Maps, and Exhibits <br />directly follows the Table of Contents to this application. <br />6 <br />
