Iron The samples in which this parameter was analyzed were from <br />• depths of 30"-36". This material is not planned to be used <br />as a plant growth media. Therefore, this metal should not <br />be a problem. In addition, Munshower et al. (1978) <br />indicated that iron concentrations as high as 150 ppm were <br />found in perennial grasses from native rangelands of <br />southwestern Montana. It appears iron is not a problematic <br />and should not be given great attention. <br />Manganese Again, this soil increment will not be used as a plant <br />growth media. Therefore, given the low concentrations and <br />the mixing of this zone, no toxicity problems should be <br />encountered. <br />Based on the above, the top six inches of overburden will be removed and <br />stockpiled prior to regrading the 5A portal area. Once the post-mining <br />contour has been recreated the stockpiled overburden will be redistributed <br />over the site. The site will be seeded with the approved seed mixture. <br /> <br />U <br />
