We are in receipt of your letter of June 18, 1985 and have prepared <br />the following responses to address the noted concerns. We appreciate <br />your prompt review of this additional information in order to <br />facilitate approval of the Coal Gulch Mine permit application. <br />Our response has been formatted to simplify review, with the specific <br />comment noted first, followed by the related response. <br />Hydrologic Concerns <br />1. <br />2. <br />The Division requests that Peerless Resources, Inc. ("Peerless") <br />provide a pond treatment Ulan for the sediment pond at the Coal <br />Gulch Mine, even the auantit ana uaiit or t es or erriuent <br />rpm t e o d rness-Mc ri in orta . <br />. Response: The discharge from the sediment pond at the Coal Gulch <br />operation will be regulated under the standards of National <br />Pollutant Discharge Elimination System ("NPDES") permit that was <br />issued to Peerless on June 20, 1985. Peerless will comply with <br />all NPDES monitoring and effluent discharge limitations. <br />R~esPO-nse: Responses to the hydrologic concerns identified by Ms. <br />Ann Baldridge of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division <br />("Division") are presented in Attachment 1. <br />
