The requirements of Rule 4 Performance Standards have been <br />incorporated into the appropriated discussions contained in Rule 2. <br />Further, supplemental information not included in the text of the document is provided in <br />the form of figures, tables, maps and exhibits. <br />Geographic Setting <br />The Colorado Coal Mine No. 1 is located approximately 4 miles northwest of Walsenburg, <br />Colorado on State Highway 69, as shown in Figure 1, General Location Map. State <br />Highway 69 provides direct access to the mine from Walsenburg. The elevation of the <br />mining area is approximately 6,300 feet above sea level. The area affected by the operation <br />is entuely within Huerfano County, Colorado. <br />The mine plan area is drained by two ephemeral streams, the Maitland and Gordon arroyos. <br />These drainages flow only in direct response to rainfall or snowmelt. <br /> <br />1.01-3 <br />
