<br />-2- <br />5. Please provide a discussion of the existing drain operated by the Grand <br />Junction Drainage District along the west side of the operation. Please <br />verify that the United Companies of Mesa County will maintain a 40 foot <br />buffer zone during excavation and reclamation activities. Please verify <br />that the 40 foot buffer zone is acceptable to the Grand Junction Draina_e <br />District. <br />6. The Division recommends a 100-foot easement alona_ the north bank of the <br />Colorado River to accommodate bank stabilization and recreational use. <br />7. The Reclamation Plan <br />also shows six (6) locations where shrubs will be planted. The Division <br />recommends the planting of trees and shrubs at a greater density to allow <br />for• development of a recreation site. Please commit to a specific <br />density of shrubs and trees on a per-acre basis. We recommend the use of <br />thEr following: Willow, Alder, Green Ash, and Cottonwood. <br />9.
