4 _
N
~~ ~ MOUNTAIN COAL
a. ~ COMPaNVL.L.C.
A subsidiary of Arch Wesiem Resoumes, LLC
Wes[ Elk Mine
P.O. Box 591
5174 Highway 133
SomerscL COS 1434
(970)929-5015
Fax (970)929-5595
Approval from the BLM and CDMG for this pad and drill hole is necessary for us to determine the
location and thickness of the M2 parting thought to occur in this azea of the B-Seam.
Existing roads will be used as much as possible to access the EEE location. Access will be from State
Highway 133 to an existing road and gate that previously accessed the Meadowlark Farm and old ski
azea. It is anticipated that less than 2.0 acres of disturbance will occur as a result of the construction of
the pad and short road (400') required to access the pad. The length of time to drill and complete the
hole is approximately 10 days. After a determination has been made to either abandon or complete the
hole as a water monitoring hole, the road and pad will be reclaimed this fall. Water will be supplied to
the pad via water truck or flexible hose laid on [he ground. The source of the water will be the North
Fork of the Gunnison River either from the mine site or a small pump placed in the river.
Please notify me if you have questions regazding this minor revision request.
• Si ly, R D _ '
Henry A. azbe
Environmental Engineer
Enclosures: MR-281 Application
cc: W.
