Qualifications and assumptions used In the <br />preparation of the costs provided in the February, 1987, amendment appli- <br />cation were used in this discussion. <br />Dismantle Buildings/Surface Facilities <br />T/iis section 1s a general labor estl ma to which is an approxl ma tl on <br />of the tirt~e necessary to accomplish the three listed tasks. <br />Radiological monitoring will provide the basis for detarrtuning special <br />handling requirements with the additional alpha survey time primarily <br />spent on departing trucks. Determining the degree of alpha conta.minatlon, <br />if any, and the proper measures to remove it and to assure compliance with <br />D.O.T. regulations represents the major portion of this technician-levol <br />function. <br />Disassembly of buildings in such a manner as to yield salvagable <br />materials will be a Iabor intensive task. A diversified crew of Labor, <br />technical and supervSsory personnel will be required to determine what <br />can be salvaged and decontaminated, and the best methods of doing so. <br />Finally, the labor cost for the actual salvage operation 1ts~~1P <br />involves the handling and shipping of three types of materials: ~squipment, <br />structural materials and fixtures. <br />Site Clean-up <br />This step involves grading and stabilization work as well as the <br />construction of a step and pool stream bed in the Ralston Crsek channel. <br />
