•

EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Plan
Description of Proposed Final Land Use
Based upon discussions with the surface landowner, and ;~ review
of the present and future land use adjacent to the mine site, the 14
acres of affected land will be reclaimed to create a cattle <lrazing
area or agricultural land use. In accordance with the Rule Fi (Re-
clamation Performance Standards) and commensurate with the final
slopes of the regraded affected land, none of the reclaimed °~lopes
will be steep enough to preclude full use of the land for livestock
grazing.
In addition to regrading reclaimed building sites, settling ponds
~J
and roads, the only area that will require significant earthmoving oper-
ations is the waste d~,!mp. Throughout the mining operation grid during
the reclamation phase, the residual waste rock will be graded using a
Caterpillar D7E, or its equivalent, so that the waste dump assumes a
cross-sectional profile showing a slope that is less than the angle of
repose. A 6 inch clay soil horizon and four to six inches oi' topsoil
will be spread over the top and side of the waste dump by heavy earth-
moving equipment. The clay will be compacted to approximately 95% of
maxi mum.
Surrounding Land Use
According to the Jefferson County Existing Land Use Map dated 1970,
•
the area surrounding the affected land was designated as either agri-
cultural or vacant land use. The land use map depicting the planned
use in the year 2000 shows the area adjacent to and including the
E-1
