I apologize that I do not know the application number but the company involved is Allen Drilling & Excavating. As I mentioned I just recently learned of this from a local concerned citizen who lives in the immediate arcs. Therefore I have not had much time to do detailed research and submit specific comments but still wanted to take this opportunity to encourage the Colorado Department of Natural Resources to fully consider the comments of the local residents. Of course DNR is required to solicit public input and provide opportunity to give input on specific pmjects, as has occurred in this case. However, it is always critical that the agency move slowly in cases h'ke this and do whatever is in its power to involve the local community in its decision making process to insure health and safety considerations have been extensively reviewed and necessary actions taken. Furthermore, as required bylaw, it is important that DNR give proper credence to water quality and water supply impacts from this proposed project and not rush to grant a permit for this site. As the projected lifetime of this gavel operation is almost a quarter of a century it is important that a thorough review is conducted now to ensure the long-term protection of land, wildlife and water resources, as well as ensure the health and safety of the public.
