Bad Boys of Cripple Creek Mining Company, Inc., Property );valuation Page fi
turquoise. the rock type in the sampling area was breccia, a highly broken rock
composed of fragments of granite or granite Schist.3
Photo Three is a view of the sampling area before any of the sampling work was
done. Some of the turquoise bearing structures are clear]y shown and emphasized
by the lines. Map 4 is a sketch map of predominate geologic trends in Lhe area, Lhe
occurrence of turquoise can be traced along these trends.
Turquoise was observed in several locations on tl~e Bad Boys and adjacent
properties. Turquoise mining has been conducted on a periodic basis on the adjacent
claim to the southwest as well as other localities and several pits in the area showed
traces of turquoise. '1'he area is well known as a turquoise producing area and tl~e
dumps are regularly picked over by visitors to the district.'T}~e only way to see
quality turquoise is in a fresh excavation.
The Roanoke Shatt, which is on the property, had reported occurrences of turquoise
at a depth of 40 (l and 80 (t, in 5 veins, one was reported as 3 in tlliclc and tl~c lower
as 10 in thick. Observations were reported in recent Limes before Lhe wooden
infrastructure in tl~e shaft rotted out. Tl~e trend that tl~e sampling followed is
aligned with the,Roanoke shaft, more or less, at a depth of 40 CC.
There is gold mineralization on t}-e property, the Roanoke shaft was specifically
mentioned by Lindgren4. Samples were taken in the prospect area on tl~e south end
with reported assays for gold and silver.
SITE VISIT 2
On November 12, 1994 a second visit was made to the site. The purpose of this visit
was to conduct a sampling program, on site, in undisturbed turquoise Dearing zotros,
and to recover gemstones in sufficient quantiL,y to determiuc Lhe nature and value of
tl~e raw product produced from tl~e roiue. '1'I~ese activities were successfully
completed.
Sampling
Procedure
The pit where the sampling program was done is about u0 ft wide, 40 ft deep and
ramps from the surface for about 100 ft. from t}~e East. It is immediately adjacent to
the northern portion of the property acquired by the city. 'fhe direction of sampling
was toward the City property ('fhe sheet metal building can be seen in the photos).
s Lindgren, Reference 6
4 Lindgren, Reference 6
PIONEER ENGINEERING
