It formed in <br /> <br />residuum derived dominantly from shale and siltstona. Slope is 20 to <br />SO percent. Typically, the surface layer is light brownish gray very <br />channsry clay loam about 3 inches thick. Tha substratum is mainly <br />clay about 13 inches thick over shale at a depth of 16 inches. The <br />soil is neutral to 3 inches, mildly alkaline to 6 inches, and neutral <br />below that depth. Similar soils that era calcareous and moderately <br />alkaline era also found in this unit <br />The surface layer is very <br />cobDly or vary stony in some areas. <br />r, <br />~~y <br />
