..._ ~ LUCKY S1'RiKE MINE
I P.O. BOX 7
CUNNISON, COLORADO 81230
November 21, 1985
Mr. Philip C. Saletta, P.E.
Mined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman Street, Room 423
Deriver, Colorado 80203-2273
REFERENCE: Lucky Strike Mine File No. M-82-20
Dear Mr. Saletta:
RFcF~v
No~2 ? ~®
M1N
cob ~(ANp~~~r
Riso~ ~N
I am writing this letter in response to our conversation during
October, regarding the issue of an increase of Bonding for the permits
for the Lucky Strike Mine.
At the present time we are not utilizing our cyanide circuit and
have no plans of use for the immediate future. However, already having
$250,000.00 invested in equipment and ponds, we do not want to give
up our permits as possibly in the future our ore may change where we
may want to run some of our concentrates. At that time we will notify
the Mined Land Reclamation Division of our decision.
Concerning the issue of an increase of Bonding, we now have an
excess of Bonding to reclaim the Lucky Strike Mine. We currently have
all the down slopes of both ponds graded and reseeded. To complete
the reclamation all we will need to do is to bulldoze the topsoil onto
the tops of the dams, smooth it out and seed, at a cost of approximately
$2,000.00. Therefore, I definitely see no need for more Bonding.
At r.he rime the permits were granted the Bonding was set for full reclama-
tion. Any increase in Bonding will be unacceptable and will have to
be settled in Court.
Thank you for your attention in this matter.
Sincerely,
Melvin R.
