<br />BENT COUNTY PIT #2 <br />Permit # M-2001-019 <br />Responses to letter dated May 22, 2001 regarding additional requirements <br />Rule 6.4.3 (d) A revised page 1 of the application is submitted herewith to <br />reflect increased permitted acreage to include access road <br />acreage. <br />Rule 6.4.4 (e) (i) It is estimated that mining will commence at this site in late <br />2003 or early 2004. The anticipated end use of primary <br />commodities to be mined is 2012. <br />Rule 6.4.4 (e) (ii) Mining will commence from the east side of the pit and <br />continue to the west fanning to the north and south of the pit <br />until the pit is mined out. <br />Rule 6.4.4 (e) (iii) Reclamation of this pit will commence only after the pit has <br />been fully mined out. <br />Rule 6.4.4 (f) (ii) The nature of the stratum immediately beneath the material <br />to be mined is shale. <br />Rule 6.4.4 (g) The only commodity to be mined/extracted from this mine is <br />gravel. <br />Rule 6.6.4 (h) No incidental products. <br />Rule 6.6.4.5 Natural fines will come from and be stockpiled on site. <br />The thickness of growth medium to be replaced in the <br />disturbed area will be 2" to 3". <br />The entire site will be disturbed before initiation of <br />reclamation activities begin. <br />Rule 6.4.6 The slope and direction of the slope (2 to 1) are as shown on <br />the revised reclamation plan map enclose <br />Rule 6.4.8 Bent County will follow the recommendation of DOW by <br />limiting new dirt removal to October through March because <br />of the potential impact on a burrowing owl. <br />
