3-12
Shown on Figures 3.1-2 and 3.1-3. Figure 3.1-2 is a smaller scale map of the
i
mine site than Figure 3.1-1 and shows detailed reclamation contours of the
reclaimed mine site.
In general, all coal outcrops will be backfilled with incombustible material,
but the naturally occurring outcrops at the head of the two major canyons at the
mine site will be exposed. Any attempt to backfill these drainages would
encounter problems with erosion.
MINE SUPPORT FACILITIES
All facilities within the office complex will be removed except for the trees
planted for screening, which will be saved if possible. The area will then be
regarded to the approximate original contour and the topsoil will be replaced.
•\ (See Section 3.3 for topsoil replacement). As the office area is regarded to AOC
and topsoiled, the landform will assume to predisturbance slopes allowing any
runoff to be directed to the natural sediment trap which forms part of SAE-1.
The access road will also be ripped to break up the compacted road base.
After ripping, a portion of the material may be used for any further reshaping of
adjacent areas to achieve approximate original contours. Excess material will be
spread along the alignment to approximate the original contours and breakup
the "straight lines" of the alignment. The area will then be topsoiled and
reseeded. Silt fence or straw bales in conjunction with the mulch used in the
seeding process will effectively control runoff and sedimentation.

McClave Volume 1 03106
