GREG LEWICKI TEL~1-303-629-9335
• 4.05.9 Imn_oundments (continued)
Dec 05.95 10 20 No .001 P.02
larger area. This detention results in a huge reduction in sediment delivery as compared
to that of the natural dlainagc: Engleville Gulch. In fact, experience and test results
have shown that the water quality of discharges from the pond is significantly better
than that of the natural stream, due to the sediment detention capability of the pond.
5) The Rimrock Minc Sediment Pond is not large enough to meet the size requirements
of Rule 4.05.9(3). As required, the pond does meet the maximutn design requirements
of I. .Soil on erv~lLSlr Service Public Standard 378 "Ponds" Colorado January
]989. This publication covers many requirements for compaction, slopes, principal and
emergency spillway requirements, dam widths, maximum water levels below the top of
the dam, seepage controls, etc. The Rimrock sediment pond meets all of the
requirements.
u
-2-
• Revised for permit renewal 11/17/95
