• PUBLIC NOTICE IN NEWSPAPER <br />The Bear Coal Company, Inc., Bear Coal Mine, Somerset, CO 81434, Phone <br />303-929-5775, has filed with the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation <br />Division, an application for a permit revision to Mining Permit No. <br />C-033-81 which was approved by the Mined Land Reclamation Division on <br />July 18, 1982. The permit revision would increase the area to be mined <br />by underground room and pillar methods at the Bear Coal Company. The <br />legal description of the proposed additional mining area is as follows: <br />T13S, R90W, 6th P.M. <br />The first corner of the proposed permit addition begins at the <br />corners of Sections 16, 17, 20, and 21, T13S, R90W, being point 1, <br />first course due south 300 feet; thence north 88° west 2,620 feet; <br />thence north 81° west 1,862 feet; thence north 12° west 2,210 feet; <br />thence north 20° 20' west 810 feet; thence north 2° 15' east 1,180 <br />feet; thence south 87° 15' east 2,680 feet; thence south 2° 45' <br />• west 4,180 feet; thence south 88° east 2,620 feet to the point of <br />beginning; and containing approximately 264 acres. The east and <br />northern boundaries of the additional .area coincide with the west <br />and southern boundaries of Federal Coal Lease C-052501 currently <br />included in the Bear Coal Company permit boundary. <br />The surface of the proposed additional permit area is owned by Atlantic <br />Richfield Company and Marion D. Sell. <br />The Bear Coal Company is currently in operation. <br />The map described below indicates the towns, water bodies, local <br />landmarks and routes necessary to readily identify the proposed permit <br />area. The proposed postmining use of the affected land is rangeland <br />wildlife habitat. <br />• <br />
