CONCLUSION
The calculations of estimated streamflow depletion of the North Fork of
the Gunnison River due to the operation of the Bear Coal Company have
been completed given the know quantity of water pumped from a shallow
well at the mine facilities. The use of water has been prorated given
the type of use, number of people, and length of operations.
Given the current coal market, Bear Coal Company projects production to
continue at the 275,000 ton per year rate and therefore projects a
relatively constant use of water at present rates from the groundwater
system adjacent to the North Fork of the Gunnison River. No significant
increase or decrease in water usage is expected.
The total streamflow depletion by the Bear Coal Company's Bear No. 3
Mine is 1,721,000 gallons or 5.3 AC-FT per year. Details of streamflow
depletion are summarized on Table 1, streamflow Depletion Summary.
I~
-6-
