• Floor and Rib Absorption
Since all water pumped from the shallow well, except that water which is
recycled through the bathhouse facilities, is utilized in some manner by
Bear Coal Company, it is assumed some water must be absorbed by the
floor, roof, and ribs of the Bear No. 3 Mine workings. This quantity of
water is estimated to be 160,000 gallons.
Surface Dust Suppression
During the months of April through September, (131 working days) two (2)
500 gallon loads of water are consumed each day for control of dust at
the mine facilities. Water for dust suppression is taken either-from
the sediment pond or directly from the North Fork of the Gunnison River.
The estimated water depletion due to dust suppression activities is
131,000 gallons per year.
•
~J
-5-
