' <br />. _, Gea/~, <br />The deposit to be mined varies from 6 to 25 ft in depth. At this time the site has not been drilled <br />to ascertain the actual depth of the deposit it has been estimated at 15ft. The shallow case of <br />mining only Eft has been set if the deposit turns out to be unfavorable and adequate depth and <br />quantity of materials are not found. However the pit will be excavated to the contact with the <br />underling shale deposit. Additional excavation of this shale deposit may occur providing the <br />economic conditions permit. Therefore under the favorable conditions that the shale proves to be <br />a saleable commodity, the pit could be mined as much as l Oft into the shale, thus giving rise to the <br />25ft depth. Mining will occur in a uniform manner lowering the pit floor to maintain an uniform <br />slope of less than 2% across the pit. <br />E. Major Components of Operation; <br />The only major component of the operation is the pit. No structures are contemplated. <br />Processing equipment utilized in the pit will be portable. Due to the small nature on the pit site it <br />is not possible to determine a fixed position for portable Crushing and Screening or Asphalt <br />Production equipment. Equipment will be located by the equipment owner/operator upon <br />arriving on site. In most cases the operator will position the processing equipment near the <br />working face of the pit and/or existing stockpiles. Stockpiles will be located within the permit <br />boundary and will vary in location as best benefits the owner and the processing operator.
