Cottonwoods are not
found here while tamarisk is, therefore, low detrimental impacts will be ob-
served. However, with formation of ponds there will be a great amount of bene-
ficial impacts for providing a potential fishery, watering area for birds and
mammals, and resting area for migrating ducks.
&. The inclusion of Russian Olive
and wild plum (both available from the State Forest Service) would significantly
increase the wildlife benefits from reclamation. The Division of Wildlife would
be interested in discussing the possibility of opening the resulting ponds to
fishing, following mining,if that would be possible.
rr~;~: rem ty: Maurice Potter Jack Vayhinger ;;tIE: D W M Wildl Biol.
~~,:,:=: April 8 1980
cc: Environmental Resources Section
Maurice Potter, D.W.M.
