EXHIBIT G
WATER INFORMATION
•
This project will be of little disturbance to the prevailing hydology
of the area. No tributary streams, springs, ponds or ditches are
located on the affected land. The pit will be mined wet by dragline.
Therefore, there will be no dewatering or requirement for an NPDES
Permit, The area is not classified as "Wetlands" by either the SCS or
Corps of Engineers so no 404 Permit is required. Runoff will not be a
problem from stockpiles or adjacent surface areas. The minor amounts
that occur will drain ino the excavated area.
The finished configuration will contain 2 ponds. The maximum surface
area of the south pond will be 15.8 acres and 27.6 acres in the north
pond. Excess overburden, where available, will be used to add sinuosity
to the shoreline and reduce the final surface acreage of the ponds.
VALCO believes it is in compliance with federal and state laws and
regulations governing water and water rights. It is not expected that
this operation will cause measurable, material injury to senior water
rights.

•
