11 ''
• •
EXHIBIT D
1•SINING PLAN
Mining is proposed to be conducted in 3 phases. Phase 1 will begin in
southwest corner and proceed easterly. Phase 2 will start on the south-
ern boundary and move north into Phase 3 to completion of extraction.
Excavation as proposed will serve to minimize surface disturbance
at any one time. The end result will leave 2 lakes as part of the recla-
mation plan.
The deposit ranges from 40 to 60' in depth capped with 2 to 8' of over-
. burden and topsoil. Projected business demand suggests that lk to 2
acres per year will be mined.Topsoil and overburden will be removed
in each phase in increments large enough to allow for 2 to 3 years
mining. The topsoil will be segregated and preserved for reclamation.
Overburden will be used to shape and reslope'the banks~at 3 to 1 to
10' below the waterline and 2 to 1 thereafter as required. Excess
overburden, if any, will be used to add sinuosity to the shoreline.
Aggregate will be extracted from the pit by dragline and stockpiled
next to the pit to drain before transport to the crusher. The material
will be moved to the crusher by trucks, front end loaders, scrapers,
field conveyors or any combination of the above.
No dewatering is projected so no NPDES permit is required. The pit does
not affect wetlands so no 404 Corps of Engineers Permit is required.
The proposed timetable is based on the best estimate of business pro- _
jections at this time. Increased or decreased demand could result in
a drastic change in this timetable. .
~ ~~~~~ .azq ~-~
JUN L4 191
PJIINED LAND REGI_APi{A710N
Colo.
