The numerical designation
for each reply corresponds to your review.
1. Due to the lack of springs and/or seeps that could
be influenced by our operations, sampling of springs
and/or seeps were not required as a part of the
original permit. There is an extensive de-watering
system in existence via the Carlton and Roosevelt
Tunnels. This, combined with ~ the extensive
underground mining historically performed in this
area, has removed virtually all springs and/or
seeps.
2. Filtering will be used for all surface and ground
water samples.
3. Tha water levels fluctuate while the pH and cyanide
values remain relatively constant (see Attachment
A) .
4. See Attachment B.
5. Carlton Tunnel has been monitored for 15 to 20 years
by private owners. Surface and ground water data
goes back approximately five (5) years for some
sites and three (3) years for most all sites.
