The stockpiles will be
seeded to prevent erosion as described in Soil Conservation Report.
The removal of gravel from the permitted area will begin in
phase 1, at the West end and move to the East into the other phases
as time goes on. Reclamation will follow closely behind the different
phases as recommended in the Soil conservation service Report.
Approximately 15' of material will be removed from this dry
alluvial gravel deposit and then sloped back and covered with topsoil
as recommended in the Soil Conservation Service Report.
Equipment in the permitted area will be crushers, conveyors,
screens, and future wash plant and concrete batch plant. Some
equipment will be moved in and out of the pit as the working season
begins and ends.
Front-end loaders and cats will be used to handle the material
as it is processed and hauled away.
Approximately 20,000 - 30,000 tons of material will be removed
every year.
Overburden if encountered will be placed directly on the North
or South slope where the gravel has already been removed to start
the 3 to 1 slopes.
Stockpile of finished product will consist of 2-3 piles each pile
taking up 4500 square feet.
There is an existing 20' gravel road to and thru the pit and this
will be the only road necessary for the gravel pit operation.
