I did not visit the site.
This proposal _yroyid add 2:5 acres to the existing permitted area. According to your staff
person working on this application, most of the 2.5 acres to be added is already heavily
disturbed by:pasf activity, but a small portion of it is undisturbed grassfforest vegetation. Based
orithat information, we suspect that impacts to wildlife will be minimal so long as the disturbed
,.
area is reasoriet~ly reclaimed and revegetated. We like the idea of revegetating as miring.
proceeds. The revegetation plan. is unclear as to whether or not trees will be replanted ori"the.
site as part of the'reciamatfon. If asignificant number of trees, especially aspens, are removed
we suggest replanting some as part of the reclamation.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Dave Weber
Habitaf Biologist
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, Greg E.
