<br />EXHIBIT D (_Revised 3-lo-~s)9934~f 4 <br />• <br />in a few years to facilitate final grading operations as <br />well as economic removal of those surface materials that can <br />be scraper-loaded withoutblasting. Front end loader and <br />trucks will continue to be used on this operation until a <br />scraper is justified. <br />Dri11 holes and blasting are required to loosen both the <br />Smoky Hill limestone overburden and the lower Fort Hays lime- <br />stone. Overburden and production limestone are hauled by <br />large dump trucks. Trucks are loaded by electrically operated <br />shovels. Large front-end loaders also load trucks when needed. <br />Primary and secondary crushers ar.d belt conveyors to the cement <br />plant can handle up to 1,500 tons per hour. <br />• Overburden materials from Cut t~o.2 will cover the existing <br />sandstone quarry. The sandstone requirements will thereafter <br />be excavated from the quarry floor ir. the then active production <br />limestone cut. Sandstone is quarried only as necessary to <br />replenish plant storage. <br />(c) All Water Diversions and Impoundments <br />The only use o£ water is for control of dust on roads, plant <br />refuse, etc. <br />Water is from the cement plant water system. <br />An old existing water impoundment is located in a depleted <br />area of the quarry as shown on map pcc-1357. Runoff from <br />Ideal property created this impoundment as there are no <br />established surface drainageways from other properties into <br />the west quarry. The -crater level of this impoundment has <br />never raised high enough to cause any concern, even though there <br />
