SEEDING RECOMhIENDATIONS
FOA CRITICAL AREA TREATPIENT
• ~~
c
For best results, seed should be drilled ~" into a prepared seedbed, then apply
~ mulch. If slope is too steep or drill is not available, broadcast seed over a
prepared seedbed. Seed should then be covered with about 'ti' of soil. This
can best be done with a harrow or if area is small, a hand rake.
The best time ~o seed is late fall, just prior to the ground freezing. In ,~,~
this area it would be best in the months of September or October. This allows
the seed to stay in the ground until spring when it can germinate and make
the best use of spring moisture. Next best would be an early spring seeding. ~
It is best to get seed in as soon as the ground has thawed and dryed enough
to work. This can vary greatly from year to year and area to area, but by
the end of f4ay you should be able to plant.
SEEDING RATES
Lbs. per Acre PLS*

S ecies
C-W-N Variety
% of Dtix
Drilled r
Broadcast

W I~G.A-( C~ffiS i O
~s9v 7 l O ~ I L C)
C_N _ S ~c; 3 ! 7 U.S Z
~a
~;~I ~I~a,A~s _
c-N 3
*PLS Pure Live Seed is the amount of seed expected to grow based on the purity
and germination rate of the bulk seed.
C: Cool season grass
W: Warm season grass
Id: Wative species
