The <br />C <br />' affected lands, which have in part been mined since 1973, <br />were originally unused river bottomlands. <br />' No tributary water courses, springs, stock water ponds <br />or reservoirs are located on the affected land. The Hamp-Bell <br />ditch runs along the south side of Highway 96 parallel to the <br />south boundary line of Area 2. The ditch then crosses beneath <br />the highway at the east end of Area 2. It continues north and <br />' east and finally northeast on a diagonal to where it crosses <br /> the west end of Area 3 and returns to the river. There are <br /> seve ral places along the highway where water cross es beneath <br /> the highway into a concrete ditch along the south side of <br />1 <br /> Area 2 (see map Exhibit C-1). Area 2 is a leased, irrigated <br />' alfalfa field. Area 3, also irrigated, is a tree nursery <br /> operated by a lessee. <br />' 14e11 Numbers 10409 and 10410 are located in Area 2 <br /> on the affected land (see map Exhibits C and C-1).
