. United States !I III I IIIIIIII IIII III •
1 Department of Conservation
Agriculture Service
9595 Nelson Road, Box D, Longmont, CO 80501 May 27, 1981
Mrs. Margaret Winter
Flatirons Sand & Gravel
P. 0. Box 229
Boulder, CO 80306
Dear Mrs. Winter:
This letter is to inform you of the findings of the review of soils
found on the proposed mining site on the Deepe Farm east of Boulder.
The soils on this site are primarily of the Niwot series, 0 to 1%
slope, and a smaller area of Loveland soils, 0 to 1% slope.
The Niwot soils are not considered prime farmland. Although the
the Loveland soil is considered prime farmland, it is only when
irrigated and with an adequate supply of water. The Loveland soils
makes up approximately 18 acres of the total area , based on the
. approximations from the plat provided.
If I may be of further assistance, feel free to call on me.
Sincerely,
Jim Hamilton
District Conservationist
Figure E-3
(• o) E-6
