Land slopes should not exceed 3:1 and should be flatter ro~here
feasible.
2. Plant growth media (Topsoil) must have sufficient depth and
fertility to support the vegetation to be established. ~..
minimum of six inches of plant growth nedia should cover the
subsoil.
3. tlaterials such as rocl:s and trash that i:ill interfere tirith the
planting must be removed.
~I. Runoff water from the site or adjacent areas must be controlled
in a manner that will prevent serious erosion and damage to the
planting.
Fertiliser Requirement
1. The rate of fertiliser application shall be no less than 40
pounds of available nitrogen (il) and 40 pounds of available
phosphate P205) per acre.
2. Time of application shall be immediately prior to seeding, at
the time of seeding, or immediately following seeding.
Method of Seeding
1. Seed should be planted with a grass drill on all slopes 33
percent (3:1) or flatter. Depth of seeding should be :'- to 3/4
inch.
2. Seed way be broadcasted on areas that are too steep or not
accessible for seed-drill operation. however, seed planted
by the broadcast method shall be incorporated into the surface
soil, not to exceed a depth of 3/4 inch, by raking or harroror-
ing. lllso, the seed rate used frith the grass drill trill need
to be doubled.
Time of Seedi
1. Cool season plants - October 15 to tiay 15
2. Warty season Plants - October 15 to "fay 31
