Mac <br />Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, Inc. <br />November 12, 2004 <br />Mr. Mike Berdine <br />Twentymile Coal Company <br />29515 Routt County Road # 27 <br />Oak Creek, CO 80467 <br />Deaz Mike, <br />Enclosed aze two copies of the report covering the cultwal resowce inventory for the 2005 <br />seismic lines, drill holes and BLM block survey. Ten isolated finds and fow sites are situated <br />within the area of potential effect for this project. The isolates aze non significant resowces and <br />require no additional work. Of the fow sites, two (SRT2167 and SRT2168) are recommended as <br />not eligible and no fiuther work also recommended. The other two, SRT1368 and SRT1369, are <br />recommended as "need data", and are to be avoided with ground distwbing activities. Rocky <br />Thompson was agreeable to avoiding the site azeas with such work. UTM points are included is <br />• the report (Table 3) showing where shot points and, in one area vehicle traffic, are not to occur. <br />The final decision concerning these recommendations is up to the reviewing agencies. <br />One copy of the report, including site and isolated find forms, is for the Colorado Division of <br />Minerals and Geology. The other report, without site and isolated fmd.forms, is for yow file. <br />Two copies of the report, including all forms, have been sent to BLM Archeologist Hal Keesling <br />at the Little Snake Field O$ce. He will forward one of these to the Office of Archaeology and <br />Historic Preservation Office in Denver, The information included in Appendix A and B aze not <br />for public distribution. <br />Thank you again for allowing us to work for Twentymile.
