L <br /> <br />Introduction <br />Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, Ina (MAC) of Eagle, Colorado conducted a Class III <br />cultural resource inventory of four proposed seismic lines, three drill holes and two shaft azeas. <br />These are associated with Twentymile Coal Company's (TCC} 2004 exploration program for the <br />Foidel.Creek Mine, Routt County, Colorado (Figure 1, 2, and 3). Table 1 summarizes the <br />location of the nine segments of this project. The project azea is located within portions of <br />section 14, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 34, and 35, TSN, R87W; section 2, 4, 8, 10, 11, and 17, TSN, <br />R86W. The four seismic lines total approximately 8.5 miles in length. Two access roads were <br />inventoried for the shaft areas and equaled approximately 1.9 miles. These lineaz surveys <br />amounted to 126 acres of inventory. Block inventories were conducted azound the three <br />proposed drilling holes and two shaft locations which amounted to approximately 28.5 acres. <br />The seismic lines and access roads were inventoried to a total corridor width of 100 ft and the <br />blocks measured 500 feet each side. In all approximately 154.6 acres were inventoried for the <br />entire project. Two of the drill holes and the portions of seismic line in section 14 aze ott land <br />owned by the State of Colorado.
