<br />soils <br />XS3-AB Baca-Wiley Silt Loams 0-3;o Slope <br /> <br />These are deep, gently sloping, o~ell drained soils in tablelands and <br />side hills, Baca soils (about 4},K) have a >oam surface about 6 inches thick <br />and a silty clay loam sub-soil about 16 inches thick. Wi]ey soils (about 3`l~) <br />have a silt loam surface about 4 inches thick and a moderately alkaline silty <br />clay loam about '14 inches thick. There are generally no f;ravels in the <br />too five foot. <br />Y,1-CE 4lages Gravelly Loam <br />The top 3 to 6 inches is a moderately alkaline, Eravel'_y loam. From <br />6 inches to ?~+ inches is a gravelly sandy loam over sand mixed with fine- <br />~ medium gravel. Gravel is greater than 10'6 in parent material. <br />• From 2 to '10 foot is a sand and ara.vel hit-hly varible in death. <br />This material is over lime cemented sandstone hiehly weathered in rlaces. <br />It ar,nears to be rinnable in daces but hard sandstone bedrock where thick. <br />This sandstone overlays a yel]owish and greenish colored shale. <br />The material on the north slope of the crave] pit is dominately a <br />clay loam high in lime with small areas of sandy loam. There are occassional <br />snots of deep sandygravelly material. The nit bottom is covered with fine <br />gravel and sand under]ain by ~ ]imy-silt material in most areas, <br />i <br />l <br />
