Earl-Hoffman-Reyher, File // M-91-086
Dear Mr. Hernandez:
This office has reviewed the Notice of 110(?) Permit Application
Consideration submitted to our office by Mined Land Reclamation Division
for t:he above proposed project.
A search of the Colorado Inventory of Cultural Resources has indicated that
there: are no known sites located within the boundaries of this project.
However, the location of this mining operation is near the Santa Fe Trail
and s.bove the Arkansas River which makes it highly probable that
prehistoric and historic sites could be found in the area. If there have
been no previous land altering activities on the parcel, we recommend that
a cultural resource survey be undertaken to determine if eligible cultural
resources will be impacted by mining activities. This is done in
accordance with the Colorado Register of Historic Places Act (24-80.1).
If we may be of further assistance please contact Jim Green at 866-4674.
Since "ely!, / ~~2J~
James E.
