• stabilizing as values for 1988 showed little change. The HI
aquifer in this area should not have been affected by mining in
1988.
Figure A-25 presents the water-level elevation data for well
GP4, which is completed in the KLM aquifer. Data prior to 1988
shows a great deal of variance with the third quarter of 1987
being significantly lower than previous measurements. Water-
level elevations for 1988 have remained steady.
The water-level elevation versus time plot for well GPS is
presented in Figure A-26. The levels in the OR aquifer near well
GP5 have been fairly steady through September 1987. Water levels
in well GPS declined approximately 15 feet during 1988. This
response reflects the drought conditions of 1988. Well GPb is
• completed in the OR aquifer and is located approximately 4700
feet south of well GPS. Water-level elevation versus time is
presented in Figure A-27. Overall water levels have dropped
slightly in the OR aquifer in this area since September 1987, but
the decline is very small compared to the change in well GPS.
Water levels in the OR aquifer at well GPb must not be as
sensitive to changes in recharge as they are at well GPS. Water-
level data for wells GP4, GPS and GP6 are presented in Table A-7.
Well GP7 is completed in the HI aquifer at the easternmost
side of the Trapper Mine permit boundary. Water-level elevations
versus time for well GP7 are presented on Figure A-28. Levels
have shown fairly little change since 1985. The September 1985
value is significantly higher probably due to drilling fluid left
. in the well after completion before water levels could stabilize.
Figure A-29 presents the water-level elevation versus time
2-10
