~ 2.05.3 (6) <br />• During topsoil and loose overburden removal, the dozers and <br />scrapers will bench down (see illustration #1). The remaining <br />overburden will be removed by wheeled loaders and trucks. If <br />necessary, the overburden will be blasted. The benches wil'1 <br />be cut in advance of the pit operations minimizing any danger <br />from equipment working along the top of the highwall or of <br />any material sliding or falling over the highwall. A drainage <br />ditch around the mine perimeter will divert runoff from the <br />pit area. No ground water has been encountered in exploratory <br />drilling and presents no safety hazards. <br />Drilling will be with the Ingersoll-Rand rotary drill. All <br />drill holes will be 6; inches in diameter and will be vertical. <br />•B lasting, when necessary, will be done with dynamite, prell, <br />prima cord, safety fuse and caps. <br />Location of haul roads will change as pit operations progress. <br />Haulroads will be of adequate width and appropriate berms will <br />be placed where necessary. Haulroad slopes will not exceed <br />68 grades. <br />Every morning before work commences in the mine all work areas <br />are visually inspected and reported in the mine foreman's log. <br />Any unsafe conditions will be corrected. <br />~~ •~ 267 <br />
