Both Newlin Creek (t;,E.C, mine site) and Pryor Canyon are in the
ArKansas River Basin. A summary of their characteristics is listed below:.
Newlin Creek Pryor Canyon southern tributary
Elev. 5000 to 9700 6400 to 6800
10-yr, 24-hr P= 3.1" P = 3.0"
Although on-site infiltration tests have not been done in Pryor Canyon, it can
reasonably be stated that runoff yield in Pryor Canyon should not exceed that
in Newlin Creek. The Pryor Canyon southern tributary, "unnamed drainage"
has a well-stabilized earth dam in the upper watershed (drainage area, 32.5
acres) which will reduce the peak flow and total runoff volume in Pond "K".
No reduction in the flows calculated for the entire basin (140 ac) was made
in the design values to add a factor of safety to Pond "K".
•

2a

2~1' ~ b
