The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) is recommending approval of the
application for the Delta Paving Gravel Pit, File No. M-98-105, submitted by Grand
Junction Pipe & Supply Company. This recommendation is based on a finding by DMG
that the applicant has demonstrated compliance with the requirements of Section 34-32.5-
115(4) of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Act for the Extraction of Construction
Materials. DMG's Rationale for Approval Recommendation will follow under separate
mailing.
As a reminder to DMG's previous March 26, 1999 notification to the parties to the
application, DMG has scheduled the application for Formal Public Hearing before the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board, for consideration of application. The hearing has
been scheduled for the April 28-29, 1999 Board meeting at 1313 Sherman Street, Room
318, Denver, Colorado, commencing at 9:00 a.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can
be considered.
The Pre-hearing Conference has been scheduled for 2:00 p.m., April 16, 1999, at the Delta
Recreation Center, 530 Gunnison River Drive, Delta, Colorado. The purpose of the Pre-
hearing Conference is to identify the parties for the hearing and to identify the issues to be
considered by the Board at the hearing.
