Long <br />Division Director <br />Enclosed please find the following six letters, received by DMG, regarding the Stone <br />Gravel Pit application: <br />BLM letter from Calvin Joyner, dated 10/27/97, previously provided to Nielsons, <br />Inc.; <br />Warren & Sylvia Lowe letter, dated 1 1 /3/97, previously provided to Nielsons Inc.; <br />Bruce A. Bradley letter, dated 1 1 /4/97; <br />Susie Campbell Bell letter, dated 1 1 /1 1 /97; <br />Frederick W. & Susan Campbell Bell letter, dated 11/12/97; and <br />Ruth M. Stickman letter, dated 1 1 /12/97. <br />DMG has received copy of your response to BLM, resulting from 1 1 /5/97 on-site meeting <br />with BLM personnel. DMG encourages the applicant to work with BLM in a cooperative <br />manner in resolving BLM issues. DMG also encourages the applicant to attempt to <br />resolve contentious issues identified by objectors. <br />DMG decision date for the Stone Gravel Pit application is December 30, 1997. Pursuant <br />to Rule 1.7.4 and 2.7.1 (1)(c), DMG will schedule the application for a hearing before the <br />Board, during the January 28-29, 1998 Board meeting in Denver. Pre-Hearing <br />Conference, described in Rule 2.7.1, shall occur in the Cortez area, after January 10, <br />1998, but prior to January 20, 1998. Informal Conference, described in Rule 1.4.6, shall <br />occur in the Cortez area, during the first week of December. Specific dates and meeting <br />locations for the Informal Conference, Pre-Hearing Conference, and Formal Public Hearing <br />will follow under separate mailing. <br />
