III'llllllllllll I~I Doc Date:17/11/2001
sss
• h1~ SEC'T'ION 5.0 Topsoil Stockpile Locations
Trapper's approved permit (Section 4.9.2) specifies that the CMLRD will be provided with map(s) illustrat-
ing the location of topsoil stockpiles conswcted during the previous year and the approximate locations for
stockpiles proposed for construction during the upcoming year. Those maps (5-1 and 5-2) are included in
this section.
These maps were initially revised in 1990 and have been submitted annually in Appends W updating the
report and map series, as per TR-48. Each update includes the locations of existing stockptles. Since 1990,
Trapper has provided the approximate topsoil volumes (tyds) for existing stockpiles. Table 4.9.2-1 lists till
existing stockpiles with their identification nomenclature, a coordinate (based on the approximate center of
the pile), the basal area (acres), an approximate initial conswctlon date and the current appro~mate
volume; and is updated annually.
At the end of 1991 there were 88 existing topsoil stockpiles at Trapper affecting 151 acres and storing
approximately 3,420,512 cubic yards of salvaged materials.
During 1991, Trapper conswcted 18 new stockpiles and added topsoil to three existing piles. Additionally,
portions of seven existing piles were removed and Ctve piles were eliminated via topsoil replacement.
The proposed relocation of two stockpiles (MP7 and AS) as submitted and approved in MR-111 was not
• completed in 1991. The new topsoil stockpile (A8) relocation will be t:omph;te in 1992
The proposed locations (as shown on Maps 5-1 to 5~) for topsoil stockpiling in 1992 may exceed We actual
number that will be conswcted. Proposed topsoil stockpiles and the Dumber of piles constructed are
dependent upon the Feld conditions that are encountered each reclamation season. Additionally, particular
piles may be depleted from or added to in order to maintain a cost ellective salvage or replacement program
during a particular year.
Enclosed are revised permit tables 4.9-3 and 4.9~ which describe Trapper's overall topsoil stockpile
inventory through the 1992 permit term. These values reflect the topsoil inventory estimated in our 1990
Annual Rcport to the Division.
[CMLRD\91REPT51
•
