Additionally, please remember (as explained in the T.R., Item
5) that the purpose of building the Section 16 Pond is to
reduce the volume of water flow impacting the entire
diversion, and this impoundment is the reason for the 0.00 cfs
found at the natural drainage segments.
The outer berm of the South Collection Ditch is capable of
containing runoff flow contributed by Colowyo activities at
the junction where the final East Pit Ditch intersects the
South Collection Ditch as demonstrated in the SEDCAD run and
certified Typical Cross Section - South Collection Ditch
drawing found in T.R. 30. The SEDCAD run shows that flow at
this intersection is 6.68 cfs with triangular ditch dimensions
of 0.85 feet deep, 6.8 feet wide. The typical cross section
gives a minimum flow capacity of 25.49 cfs with minimum
triangular ditch dimensions of 1.3 feet deep, 10.4 feet wide.
The Colowyo actual as-built ditch at this location can handle
a minimum of 122 cfs with minimum triangular ditch dimensions
of 1.8 feet deep, 14.4 feet wide. Therefore, since the as-
built flow capacity of the south collection ditch is more than
1,800% larger than the expected flow contribution from Colowyo
activities in the Final East Pit Ditch, no problems should
occur.
Division's Cost Estimate, Section 16 Pond/Ditch
• Colowyo agrees with the Division's calculated cost of $523.00
dollars which is covered by the contingency held in the current
Colowyo bond. Colowyo would like to wait until the permit mid-term
review and then formally add this item to the permit.
